Times Higher Education has released 2010 University Ranking in their website.Many universities around a world are going up, and some of them are stable . For your information top 5 Universities today are Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, UCL, and MIT.
How about Indonesian Universities ?
Last year Indonesian Universities showed good performance, almost all of top Indonesian Universities ( UI, UGM, ITB ) increased their rank. How about 2010 ? Best of three Indonesian Universities are worse than last year, but fact that surprised me that Universitas Airlangga can rich 3rd position in Indonesian. The first rank still UI, and a second still UGM. How about ITB ? ITB must satisfied in 4th position below Universitas Airlangga .In Asia UI stills in 50th. ITB and UGM decreased, and the other hand UNPAD, IPB, and UNDIP increased.
I think we have to proud with our achievement this year in Asia sight, but we have to shame with our achievement in World sight. All of Indonesian Universities especially top PTN ( Universities which founded and managed by Government ) decreased in World sight.
What we have to do? I think don't ask we, but you who study in Government Universities.That's not my business because I'm studying in private university. In my sight, you can do many things to get better position for your beloved university. Honestly I don't have many ideas to boost your university rank, but I have one idea to boost your university rank. Please be honest in your study and do your best to get best performance so world community can give good appreciate to your university. To Universities management please be transparent in UEE ( University Entrance Examination ), and be wiser to choose student. Don't corruption, collusion,and nepotism !
